There is a growing anarchist community in South Florida. Anarchists in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Palm Beach are organizing various projects.

  • February 1999 - Total Liberation Conference, Boca Raton
  • December 2000 - Green Anarchy tour stops by Miami
  • 2001-2002 - Food Not Bombs chapter in Miami was active during this time
  • November 20-21, 2003 - FTAA (Free Trade Area of the Americas) demonstrations in Miami.
  • June 5-7, 2005 - OAS (Organization of American States) demonstrations in Fort Lauderdale.
  • January 2006 - (954) Food Not Bombs is established.
  • February 15-20, 2006 - Earth First! International Winter Rendezvous in Palm Beach County.
  • February 25, 2006- National Socialist Movement (Nazi) counter-demonstration in Orlando, 17 anti-fascist activists from Central and South Florida were arrested.
  • March 28, 2006- Anarchist, Cara Jennings, elected Lake Worth (District 2) City Comissioner with over 60% of the vote.
  • May 1, 2006- 30+ anarchists from Central and South Florida marched as part of the "A" Bloc at the May Day/Immigrant Rights Rally in Orlando
  • August 12, 2006- Anarchist Bloc at August 12th statewide protest in Orlando against the Israeli war on Lebanon and Palestine - for a No-State Solution. Organized by Orlando Food Not Bombs, St. Pete's for Peace, St. Pete Food Not Bombs and Improvised Action Collective (ImpAct)
  • October 30, 2006- Solidarity demonstration with the people of Oaxaca, organized by local anarchists. Two comrades were arrested for briefly occupying the Mexican Consulate in South Miami.
  • January 5-7, 2007 - 2nd Annual South Florida Radical Activist Conference, Miami
  • April 4, 2007 - Orlando Food Not Bombs activist Eric Montanez is arrested for violating a City of Orlando ordinance restricting the distribution of food in public parks.
  • April 28-May 7, 2007 - Florida May Day Roadshow and Florida May Day Spring Hootenanny, state-wide anarchist gathering in Palm Beach County.
  • June 27, 2007 - Six members of Orlando Food Not Bombs were arrested for drumming outside a fundraiser for Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer in protest of his support for an ordinance that bans the serving of food in public parks. They were arrested on charges of violating a City of Orlando noise ordinance even though it is not an arrestable offense.
  • February 2008 - Earth First! 2008 Winter Rendezvous in Palm Beach County. After the conference, 27 EF!ers got arrested for a civil disobedience in which they blocked construction of the West County Energy Center, a natural gas power plant near the Everglades.
  • April 2008 - All Power to the Imagination! anarchist conference in Sarasota.
  • May 2008 - St. Augustine May Day 3-day extravaganza. Dozens of anarchists from around the state came for Dodgeball, Food Not Bombs, Critical Mass, workshops, and a Scavenger Hunt!
