Mission

From Infoshop OpenWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

The Infoshop OpenWiki is a fairly open online encyclopedia. Its primary purpose is to support the overall Infoshop.org website with supporting pages and information. Our other mission is to provide a comprehensive radical online encyclopedia which will serve as an alternative to mainstream projects such as Wikipedia.

The Infoshop OpenWiki relies on volunteers to create and edit its content. You can get involved!

A Wiki of Our Own

This wiki is a project created by anarchists, anti-authoritarians, activists, libertarian leftists, and people of similar mind. If you are hostile to us, you are not welcome to participate here. This is our sandbox and because we have limited resources to support our views, we will draw lines when and where appropriate.

OpenWiki Mission (tentative)

  • To provide useful and accurate information to anarchist and anti-authoritarian movements in an easy to use format.
  • To decentralize the contribution process and encourage broader participation from anarchists and allies on infoshop.org
  • To gather and document anarchist and emancipatory resistance around the world
  • To promote international solidarity by building connections and deepening awareness and understanding of anarchist movements and theory

The Infoshop Mission

  • Infoshop.org exists to serve the international anarchist and libertarian movements. We provide a news and information service for anarchists, anti-authoritarians, like-minded people, and the greater public.
  • Infoshop.org is committed to the promotion of the broad currents of anarchist and libertarian thinking. We are "big tent" or ecumenical anarchists and libertarians who are interested in promoting the diversity of anarchist thought, opinion, practice and affiliation.
  • We seek to practice what we preach, so we are practical anarchists. Our project is run by a collective and a network of volunteers. We strive to be as open and transparent as is possible in a repressive capitalist society.
